Gareth Sansom 'Transformer' at NGV Australia

Gareth Sansom’s career retrospective 'Transformer' opens tonight at NGV Australia. One of Australia’s pre-eminent painters, the themes explored throughout his practice cover pop culture, sexual transgression, dada, punk and painting’s own history as seen through the lens of twentieth-century modernist abstraction. Over 130 works will be on show, many which have never exhibited publicly before. Suites of works on paper and photography will complement more than 50 paintings, including recent works from the past 15 years.

‘Transformer’ will run until 28 January 2018.
